Issue 2 - Week 6
Principal's Article
Dear Parents/Carers,
In creating the best possible learning opportunities for every student the teachers have been working on their Individual Education Plans and hopefully many of you have taken up the opportunity to sit down with your child's teacher to plan both academic and social goals for your child. Setting goals is just as important in an education support setting as a mainstream school. We want all of our students to experience success and have a real sense of achievement. Last year's data saw student literacy improve with 77% improvement in spelling; how good is that!
Finally please keep checking the school app and our Facebook page for up and coming events and celebrations.
Kind Regards,
Gary Hobson

News from K/PP with Mrs Rowe
What a start to 2021!! K/PP have made an exceptional start to their learning journey at Westminster ESC. We are very proud to have such wonderful new additions to our community.
We are enjoying our Comprehensive literacy program and look forward to the ‘Story of the week’. This week it is Eric Carle’s from Head to toe. Last week was “Spot goes to school”.
Cholhok and Trace thoroughly enjoy the letter songs and sounds games. With each day a surprise as to what the “letter/sound” will be.
Already we have learnt so much and are able to walk around the school transitioning between rooms. The Xploration hub is a favourite, especially with the Bubble tube and interactive learning board.
We are awesome at climbing and exploring the play equipment and our favourite place is the Junior playground. Watching and playing with our friends on a Friday is a great treat.
That’s all for now from our Superstar’s in K/PP.

BeYou
Welcome to our new parents/carers for 2021. For those of you who are unaware we are a Be You school.
What does that mean?
Be You’s vision is that every learning community is positive, inclusive and resilient- a place where every child, young person, educator and family can achieve their best possible mental health.
Last year a survey returned by families indicated a need for more information to be provided on services available in the local community related to Health and Wellbeing. We continue to update our Health and Wellbeing hub in the office foyer so please feel free to visit anytime.
More information can be located at:

We have some Be You events/initiatives coming up next term so keep an eye out for those.
