Issue 19 - 14th December
Principal's Message
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
As we come to the end of this academic year, it is with great pride that I can look back at the many achievements of the children. They have worked so hard even with every changing demands made on us due to Covid19.
I am so proud of our students who have displayed throughout the year many values and attributes, particularly resilience when tackling a particularly tricky problem whether it is in class or a problem between friends; courage in coping with changes; demonstrated real care towards all members of the school community; appreciation and happiness for each other and all the opportunities they are given within the school.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff for their hard work this year. It has been a year of changes and they have embraced this with goodwill and continued to provide the best education for the children.
I would also like to thank all parents and carers for their support this year. A great deal of what we do in school cannot be achieved without you, your co-operation and backing. Many thanks and we look forward to working more closely with you in 2021.
Finally, I would like to wish all children who are leaving us at the end of this academic year all the very best on their journey. I know that they have all had a great start here at Westminster ESC and know that they will go on to achieve great things in the future.
Have a wonderful summer holiday and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
Kind Regards,
Gary Hobson

Amalgamation Update
Year 6 Camp
What a fantastic time the year 6’s had on camp! Prior to going, the countdown was on and all the students were very excited. ESC6 hired a 12-seater commuter where I drove us all to Keith Maine Centre in Whiteman Park on the first day, where we slept for two nights.
Once we all chose our beds and settled in at camp, we set off to Outback Splash in Bullsbrook, and boy was that fun! All the students thoroughly enjoyed going down the slides and did not stop once for a break, until the teachers told them to. Once Christian and Elizabeth discovered the VERY big slides, that was it, they were off; Max even joined as well! Mr Hobson went down ‘The Wall’ with Tase and as they came out, you couldn’t wipe the smile off Tase’s face. Christian, Elizabeth and Mr Godfrey were brave enough to go down ‘The Wedgie’ slide (the name speaks for itself), which you wouldn’t catch me going down! Myself and Mrs La Galia braved it and went down ‘The Wall’, where we both screamed the whole time in the anticipation of the sudden drop! Noah was in heaven and liked the yellow slide so much, he spent about 2 hours going up and down the same slide! Max enjoyed kicking back in the paddle pool for a break from walking up all those stairs!
The following day, we got ourselves sorted and set off again to Morley Galleria. Here we watched Trolls World Tour and had the whole cinema to ourselves. We indulged in a little bit of popcorn which got finished off by Miss Shaw later on that afternoon. After the movies we treated ourselves to some McDonalds for lunch, followed by some laser tag fun at Lazer Blaze. We were absolutely shattered after our second big day, so it made sense to chill and play in the pool to cool off.
I was extremely impressed by the students’ resilience, independence and initiative while being on camp. Some of our students have never been away from home before and they settled in beautifully to a different nightly routine and being away from their parent’s for a whole two nights!!!
It was a wonderful way to celebrate what a great year it has been in ESC6 and for the students to spend some quality time together as Year 6 Leaver’s, before they head off to high school next year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hard-working and wonderful staff who helped me make the camp run so smoothly; Mrs La Galia, Mrs Tilbrook and the two sleeping beauties (Mr Hobson and Mr Godfrey) thank you all so much- we were all a star team!
ESC6 wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday and we all look forward to seeing everyone back in 2021 for a new year of fun!
